Sharing stories brings laughter and joy over coffee with friends, books take us on a journey into alternate worlds, through culture we pass down the wisdom of the elders whilst film, art and poetry weave stories with color, texture and form. Stories inspire, delight, intrigue, educate bring joy and hope, propelling us to new heights, allowing us to expand and grow through deepening our understanding.
However when stories become a habitual rehashing of the past, a recent event or simply gossip and you tell everybody you know like ground hog day, day after day, week after week you keep the story, the drama and the negative energy alive. As does replaying stories in your mind with thoughts like ‘would have’, ‘could have’, ‘should have’ ‘I wish I said’ creating toxicity in both your energy field and physiology.
Prolonged irritation and suppressed emotions have undesirable effects causing congestion and/or depletion in both the chakras and health rays making you susceptible to head ache, gallbladder, heart, digestive and liver problems to name a few. The words and thoughts affect not only your physiology but the person you continue to talk or think about.
It’s time to kick the habit:
Step 1. Create an intention to be the master of your thoughts and conversations
Step 2. Become aware when you’re gossiping, rehashing a story or playing it over and over in your mind.
Step 3. Step into the Choice Gap bring your focus to your breath and come back into the present moment.
Step 4. Choose to disengage from gossip or toxic thought patterns, observe the situation form a more expansive state and employ techniques from C.P.R., Matter Over Mind, E.Q and I.Q. to master your mind and transform emotions.
Step 5. Learn new communication skills to effectively engage and lead conversations in a new direction, inspiring your friendship circle to converse about current issues, matters of interest, a book you’ve read etc.
